I've been coming here a long time. They had a fire during Covid and I was afraid they would be closed down. The owners persevered and remodeled and improved the physical space. I'm a fan of their beef soup Westlake style.
I have been meaning to try this place for ages, and I finally had the opportunity during my lunch break. All the staff talked to each other in Cantonese, which was a good sign that the food is authentic as well. My roasted duck soup noodle was good, as the duck was traditionally prepared and flavorful. However, the consistency of the noodles tasted like instant ramen. I don't know whether it's undercooked or that's the intended effect, but I was not thrilled. The steamed bok choy was delicious and balanced the richness of the duck well. I also enjoyed the hot pot of tea that's served for all the customers without me even asking for it. The tea was fragrant and tasted good, especially on a cold day. Service was decent. I was seated right away and the server took my order shortly after. I did have to wave down the staff to pay my bill, but that didn't take long either. Parking was tricky along this weird diagonal street, as it was hard to monitor cross traffic backing out.
Tried the wonton soup amazing broth so delicious, steamed pork dumplings came out nice and hot. Then the house fried rice with extra duck. All great choices and then finished off with the salt and pepper crab which came with jalapeños and green onions and a lightly fried batter that was so tasty. The servings are large for sharing family style and the service was excellent and quick! Love that it's a cozy spot for Chinese with a great seafood selection. Family owned and operated for over 25 years!
This is the spot. Legit. Delicious, fast, great service. Be nice to them, they're good people. I see couples, I see families, legit spot for any size group to eat. Seems family owned and operated. It's not a roll of the dice, they have consistency and quality each time I go there.
I'm a new fan since I'm new to the neighborhood. There was a gentleman in the front that gave very good recommendations for my large order. Servings are huge, food is fresh. I also orders a duck noodle soup that came with a quarter duck!? It was super juicy and flavorful I ate the rest of the duck with rice! It's tucked in a little street by our place. Restaurant was bright, well maintained, family friendly (large group friendly). Since then we have been ordering more than once a month. Try their noodles, soups, veggies dishes. Oh and the salt and pepper pork chops!!!! Super gooood
We recently moved to Long Beach and we were craving for some authentic Chinese food and guess what, we found it! We really enjoyed it and we will be going back to try different dishes. Out of ordinary we ordered szechuan eggplant and it was BOOM! We will be definitely coming back to try different dishes. Service was great and seems like family run restaurant and they were super friendly.
Best lunch deals ever! This place serves big portion at a reasonable price. The team members are always friendly and fast. Your lunch will come out of the kitchen piping hot and to you in no time. Their eggplant, kung pao chicken and salt and pepper pork chops are my favorite. They also give a pot of tea. No wonder this place is always busy. There lots of seats so no need to wait for long to get seated too. The outdated no thrills decor makes this place. Good times always!
After shopping, we decided to eat dinner here at L.V. Seafood Restaurant in Long Beach. A friend told us about this place and it will hit the spot if you are craving old school, genuine Chinese cuisine. We arrived a little past 8 pm, and there were maybe 3 other parties dining inside. The place is big so they could accommodate a big party if need be. The staff is very nice, and when we realized we were the only ones left, they told us not to rush. We ordered the House Special Fried Rice, Beef & Broccoli, and the Salt & Pepper Pork Chops. Every dish was freshly made and perfect! Nothing was too salty or underseasoned. The portions are good, and the prices reflect that. Sam, the owner, brought us take out containers to pack up our leftovers. He chatted briefly with us, telling us how he and his family have been in business since 1996! Wow!! That's awesome, and I'm so glad they were able to stay afloat during and after the covid pandemic! L.V. Seafood will be on my radar when I'm in the Long Beach area craving some good Chinese food! Support this local small business, and fill your bellies without breaking the bank! ;)
I'm so excited to have been introduced to this restaurant! Food was fresh and tasty with ample portions and friendly service. I can't wait to share it with others. My sister and her hubby have been coming here and while we did go during lunch time, the fried rice and chow mein were off of their dinner menu and my jaw dropped at such a plentiful serving each was. The green beans were perfect with a nice crunch to it and the chicken was beautiful white meat sliced and tender. Sauce was yummy on it as well as the beef and Chinese broccoli where we added mushrooms to. Nice rich sauces without the too thick cornstarch texture. The fried rice was so lovely with the nice sized shrimp pieces along with chicken and more. The chow mein with the pan fried noodles was wonderful. Unlike other restaurants the variety of proteins offered included nice size pieces of fresh tasting fish I am so looking forward to going back and trying some of the other items.
